It's a Bloggy Kind of Day
I am having one of those blah days. Everything is annoying me and I think everything is stupid! HAHA I am not particularly upset about anything I am just crabby. I didn't want to workout today but I ended up putting the dvd in and doing half of the workout, I guess it's better than nothing. I told Matt how I was feeling and of course he knows the way to my heart...let's go to TARGET! Shopping and getting a treat always makes me feel better :) I got some new bands for my workout so I am excited to try them tomorrow. Molly got some bones and Matt got some socks and of course a shopping trip to Target is not complete without some candy! Damn you Easter treats!
One other thing I wanted to share with the family....Matt got his diploma in the mail yesterday here is a pic with the frame I got him for graduation! Looks sharp! I am so proud of him :)
Low Calorie Vodka
I saw Tara's comment and it reminded me of something I just saw new from Bethenny Frankels Skinny Girl Line. Low Cal Vodka and Wine!!!

Foods to boost your metabolism
It's been a month of two a day work outs for us today. Rather then whine about the lack of results I thought I would revisit the "research" that started our quest. Here is the first piece of "research" that Harry did.
Ten foods to raise your metabolism.
1.Water
2.Green Tea
3. Soup
4. Grapefruit
5.Apples and Pears
6.Broccoli
7. Low-fat Yogurt
8. Lean Turkey
9. oatmeal
10 Hot Peppers

When the going gets tough?
Made it through week one of level two of the boot camp work out. A difficult week of work outs for me. I hope I can start to feel stronger soon. Tuesday will be a month of work out for us. I am sticking with it, but it is frustrating to not feel any consistent change. Some days I feel stronger but then the next day feels like crap again, and my pants are no closer to zipping. Plus it is annoying that Harry is of course getting stronger, losing weigh, and getting cockier about it each day. Harry gets full credit for the Davidson cockiness.
My goal for next week is to think positive and maybe be cocky. Maybe cockiness is what gets people through the tough stuff.

New Computer!!!!
My pink laptop died on me a few months ago but I made it work with about 6 missing letters and a few numbers out too. I couldn't take it anymore! Matt got me an HP from Best Buy! It's cool! Built in camera so no funky Skype camera anymore :)
Anyway...my Nana passed away this morning. I am still so surprised but glad it happened while I was there. Because of Nana's history (there have been many this is it moments) you just never know and it seemed like she would always turn it around and the next day she was fine. Nana was ready and so were we. May she rest in peace and dance with Poppy.
On a lighter note, Molly and I went on a 4 mile run today! I hadn't worked out in about 3 days I needed to run! She did such a good job. The running pace for Molly is perfect because she doesn't have time to get distracted. I also started back with my Brazil Butt Lift program :) Bum Bum!
In regards to a Davidson's Ladies adventure I say we do it in Seattle! We could plan an amazing hike, it would be beautiful! Let's talk about it!

Destination?
I often say "You need to know where you're going or you might miss the exit ramp." So I'm thinking lets pick a destination (Climb a mountain, Hike a trail, Run a race, Canoe a river, Kayak to an island, Swim a channel). Something to "work" towards. Any ideas? Maybe we could do three fitness excursions one in Seattle, one in Southern Cali., and one in the Midwest. What do you think? Not it for organizing the group.

San Francisco with my MaMa
I am in Sacramento; Mom and I just got back from a girls trip to S.F. for some retail therapy! On behalf of my Mom she has lost 40 lbs! She is doing a program she has done before called Optimal Weight and Wellness. It might just be a local program here in Nor Cal but it works for her and she looks great!
Here is the view from our hotel in the city!!! Ladies we need to do something like this on the Davidson side!

Trigger foods: What's yours?
Monday, Monday can't trust that day... The morning workout sucked. Will this ever get easier? The weekend was okay, except we had a little Pizza meltdown. Pizza is one of my many trigger foods (Once I start I can't stop). Actually anything with tomato sauce creates an avalanche of eating. It would be nice if I could portion control, or just say no. But I just never seem to successfully do either. I was thinking how Annie says "I'm on vacation", I realized that part of my problem is I am monumentally on vacation. Is the answer to develop some sort of ritualistic eating habits that can be broken when "on vacation"? Which of course brings me to the question of; How many "vacations" can I have?

weekend warriors
Harry and I just finished day two of level two of the boot camp work out. I worked a bit harder today (level two is tough) no second work out on the weekends (maybe a walk). We had vegetable eggs and hash-browns for breakfast (pretty healthy). Yesterday Harry brought home doughnuts for breakfast (not so health). I guess I'll have to put him on some "research" about doughnuts. Cause my first tip to share with the group is: *If your partner or roommate
or work colleagues are a hindrance to your healthy lifestyle attempts,
get them on your team by asking them to do some research for you about something ( like in Harry's case "foods that increase your metabolism") and it
might just gain you an ally.

Life with style
Davidson girls life with style. *My mantra is "I am Happy, and Healthy, and Strong". Makes me happy to figure out how to post. Harry and I added on level two of the boot camp work out today. I am slacking today cause my back is sore but I managed to flop through it. Heading to the gym (senior center) to continue the work out.
Current Goal: Mama D
No pictures for me on the blog. In fact I don't want to weigh in either (I'm afraid it will be to depressing). My "Goal" is to zip and sit in my jeans.
I was thinking about how facebook has those status boxes to check and thought how funny would it be if dysfunctions were a category.
Goofing off creating my bio for the blog:
Age 57
Occupation: as little as possible
Other Interests: art, writing, walking
Dysfunctions: anxiety, low self-esteem.
eating disorders: teen anorexia, followed by a 30+ year post pregnancy struggle with obesity/food addiction.
Fears: pedicures, crowds, shopping, open staircases.
favorite mindless activities: Food network and some of the competition shows (I like top chef and project runway hate the apprentice)
Goals: Zip my jeans. Get a pedicure, enjoy my company more. less stressing more blessing.

Current Goal
Hi girls!
Matt is doing P90X2 (got it for his birthday) and he is really committed to completing the 90 days. I also have a program that I never really gave a chance. It's by the same company that sells P90X called Beach Body. The name of the program is The Brazil Butt Lift. Its all booty all the time! The 1st phase is complete in 30 days and I am on day 17, with no cheats! I will continue the program for 60 days and hope for the best. As we all know I have hips and those won't go away but I have some saddle bags that I must destroy!!! I took before photos and I will put them up if the after photos are amazingly better :)
